Alex and Ani was founded by designer Carolyn Rafaelian over 10 years ago. Raised in a family of jewelers, Rafaelian has always been in her element, surrounding herself with metals, beads, and stones. She took that passion and created a new company, named for two of her daughters, in hopes that she could help women -- and men -- feel as empowered by jewelry as she did.
Inspired by the human spirit, Rafaelian wanted her jewelry to reflect the essence of the wearer. Each piece is crafted with great intention to create a feeling of empowerment and a personal connection between product and consumer.
