Adia Kibur Accessories started when Nadia Lee discovered her passion for designing and marketing fashion jewelry by pure coincidence. As an aspiring diplomat, with a degree in International Relations from Scripps College, Nadia was touring a metal works factory in her family's native Taiwan when she noticed a young girl wearing a bracelet made from a tiny metal spring. The creative design and sheer honesty of the piece sparked an idea in her mind.
"I realized there is a common language which stems from our innate need for self-expression," Nadia said. "Fashion accessory is a form of global communication, therefore the more truthful the vocabulary, the more powerful its prose." The uniqueness of the Adia Kibur collection lies in its use of multiple mediums and the fact that each piece is handmade. The authenticity of this hands-on technique is enhanced by Adia Kibur's use of quality adornments such as crystals, glass beads, wood, resin and metals.
Nadia's eye for jewelry began with a childhood fascination. "I used to make my own necklaces with the bits and pieces from my mother's collection," she explains. This early experimentation now informs her current career. In the realm of design, Nadia's imagination is limitless: "I like to start with big statement pieces that are wild, crazy, and truly unique, similar to accessories you see on runways or in history books worn by queens and princesses." Nadia adapts these motifs to today's trends. Her underlying goal is to create dramatic pieces that provide a sense of luxury and timelessness while remaining affordable.
